Ryan Coogler's adaptation of the traditional story of a blues musician and the devil is titled Sinners Lookmovie. The movie, which is set in 1932, stars Michael B. Jordan as twin brothers Smoke and Stack, who return to the Mississippi Delta after years of living in Chicago's criminal underworld. The brothers want to open their own juke shop with the money they have made. They enlist a young guitarist named Sammie, who joins in spite of his pastor father's objections because the father believes that blues music is devilish. Sammie is accompanied on the keyboard by pianist Delta Slim, while the food is prepared by Smoke's estranged wife Annie. Mary, Stack's biracial ex-lover, is one of the attendees on opening night.
